You can Teach an Old Dog new tricks!

Older pets can add lots of value to a household which is looking to add a four legged pet to thier home.
The biggest trick we have to find as volenteers is finding these animals homes, therefore, forever increasing the population of older dogs in our care.

It is heartbreaking seeing these poor older dogs/cats being bought in after living a nice life and loving thier owners.

'There is a lot of positives to adopting a senior, puppies and kittens take a lot of time and patience to figure out thier personality. With older pets, what you see - majority of the time is what you get'

Older pets have a tremendous amount of love to give - they understand and appreciate being rescued and are extremely eager to please - I have a five year old, new addition myself, she truely couldn't do enough for me since i picked her up from the side of the road.

Older pets are more mellow and do not take as much strenuous exercise.

Consider adopting a senior!!!

Consider Adopting a timid cat!

Written my Helena Neves:

Most people do not even consider adopting a shy cat, although if they scratched at the surface, they can be mostly suprised by the gem that lies beneath.
Even the shyest of cats can be playful and loving companion if given enough time to adjust and trust.
Something has happened in thier past to stop them from trusting humans and they desperately need our help to turn this around. Shy cats are not ferel - they just tend to be a little skittish about being handled or caught off guard in un familiar surroundings.

Especially if you are looking for a companion for your cat - please consider a shy cat as these cats tend to be the best to gel with another cat friend.

Although they may not know how to show it, shy cats do need us. The special bonds that they develop may be very rewarding to cat and human alike.
Instant lap cats they are not - and may well never be - but time and effort invested in a cat by one kind person may help them blossom again.

For more information on shy cats - please call Helena - 918149187 and come and visit some of the beautiful little cats that are at the Quintinha dos Animais - Goldra

THANK YOU!

NODDY

Noddy is a one to two year old - extremely friendly female dog. Large in size.
She was bought in to the shelter by Sao Bras camara last week and seems to be getting on with other dogs there. However we would love to find her a lovely home that she deserves.
She has been tested and is negative for Leish and Heartworm.

Please call Laura: 927 921 635 if you are interested in making NODDY part of your family

VALENTINO

Valentino is a lovely large male dog who loves children and other dogs.
He was in a lovely home until recently when the owners turned him in as he chased sheep!

He is now living in a boarding kennels but Valentino needs a fenced home where he can run around. He is 4 years old, castrated.
We think that he has leishmanitus - a disease which is caused by a moscito - however this is easily treatable but not curable. Valentino will have to have a tablet per day for the rest of his life.
However, this does not affect his gorgeous personality.

Please call Laura: 927 921 635 if you are interested in taking Valentino home.
